My (late) 2019 Goals (and lots of them)

Hello peoples and welcome back 🙂 It’s been a while since I wrote a post-that would be exams for you. I have several posts in the works, including a collab, multiple tags, and two or three bujo setups. I had an awesome break which included two christmas celebrations, pre-christmas cooking, going to Zipcity with some of the cousins, seeing an old friend for the first time in five years *squeals*, watching Into the Spiderverse in theaters with all da bois (heh tis the life of a sister xD), overnight babysitting, and spending multiple days with a friend who moved north earlier this year. I am now hopping back into school and totally looking forward to my exams yes they’re after break. I didn’t even write this post at the beginning of the year but better late than never and uh I’m kinda making up a few goals right now so hopefully I won’t bail on them. I now bring you my 2019 goals…probably pretty similar to a bunch of y’all’s goals but we’ll see.

300 followers. I don’t really know what to expect, because I’ve only been blogging for a few months, but if I keep growing at the same rate, I think 300 followers is somewhat attainable. Might as well aim high.

Figure out and stick to a blog schedule that is both faithful and flexible. I don’t want to leave people waiting for a post for multiple weeks, but I also know that posting on the same days every week won’t fit into my packed, ever-changing schedule.

Find a blogging style and post categories that really click with me and my audience. I think it’s going ok so far? I will likely make some updates to the site throughout the year depending on my mood/if this style gets old. I would love to upgrade my wordpress plan, maybe a birthday gift to think about.

Use Pinterest deliberately. It’s a great tool and very helpful and fun, and it’s great to browse every now and then, but I definitely need to not spend too much time browsing. Hopefully less pins won’t mean less views but nvm it probably will

Organize my larger boards. I am currently working on this, and have completely organized my movie board. My fandom board (which has way so many pins) is a work in progress.

Bullet journal:
Fill in my mood tracker every day. Yikes I don’t really know if I can do this. But hopefully my Year in Pixels will look nice and full and colorful at the end of the year.

Bullet journal every month, but don’t push yourself to do everything every month. I definitely don’t want to waste time making a bunch of spreads that I won’t use, but I do love my bullet journal and want to use it monthly.

Use blog posts to keep y’all up to date on my bullet journal. Pretty self-explanatory.

Decide with my parents where to go to high school. This will take time and lots of prayer. Hopefully I’ll be able to take some days and shadow people at multiple schools. We’ve had a lot of discussion about high school, and I still really have no idea what I want to do. My parents are leaning towards a private school across town. I think I would love the academics there, but in terms of extracurriculars I would much rather stay a part of the homeschool community.

Finish with A+ in all my classes. WOOOO. We’ll see how this goes. I think I’m on track so far. Might have to settle with plain A’s in some classes.

Work hard and take time off at the end of the day. I tend to sort of slip in breaks in the middle of the day and then work for longer, but I would love to get into a good pattern of working hard and staying on schedule and then having time off after school.

Finish Health/Nutrition and Geometry by the end of the summer. I started Geometry a few weeks ago and if I work through the summer I should finish be able to finish it before the start of my freshman year. Health was an extra class I opted to take and because of a few of my bigger classes I’ve given it low priority. Really need to catch up on it (I don’t like it so that doesn’t help-It’s more like mental health than nutrition)…

Don’t stress out. Work hard, but don’t push yourself too hard. I’m a perfectionist so I tend to take way too much time doing stuff as well as I possibly can, but sometimes I need to just work hard and work quickly and be satisfied with the results.

Read more indie author books! I have loved the indie author books I’ve read so far. And I really need to read Faith and Kell’s books because y’all have been talking about them forever xD

Reach my Goodreads goal of 175 books. I’ve read five so far, gotta keep on chuggin. Usually in the summer I knock out a large pile of books.

Complete any incomplete series on my bookshelves. I love collecting books. This Christmas I completed two more series on my bookshelf, and I want to keep collecting full series! (I’ll probably do a post on this in the future)

Complete three or four of my 4-H projects. In the past years I have ended up with multiple incomplete projects, so I want to get a jump start this year and make sure I have all my projects ready. (If you don’t know what 4-H is, look it up!)

Learn to play guitar. I’ve always wanted to do this, but never have. Probably to accomplish this goal I’ll have to take some time in the summer and have my Dad teach me. I do play ukelele, but uhh that’s not extremely helpful, and I’m terrible with strumming patterns.

Participate in as many piano events as possible. There are a ton of piano recitals and competitions and other events happening this semester, and I’d love to fit as many of them in as I can.

Patience. I haven’t really chosen a 2019 word, but this is one thing that I really want to (with the Lord’s help) work on. In a home with a ton of brothers, it’s easy to get aggravated quickly! Hopefully, this will be a year for growing in peace and patience, especially at home.

WOW. That was a lot of goals. Brownie points to anyone who read all of those. NOW, go forth and conquer your own 2019 goals. Best of luck!
Love, Isabel

  1. I hope you achieve all your goals!! ❤ Those are some great ones. I would love to finish all my classes with an A-all but French/Chemistry have A's as of right now, but I don't know if I can get those up! I know a little guitar, I'm going to self train myself the rest of the way, I want do that this year, too. 300+ followers is a really lofty goal, so if you don't make it, don't worry about it; but I bet you can! Sometimes I re-blog stuff onto my Google+ "Ariana's Flying Life" to show my blogs like mine, I may do that! 🙂 ❤ It will help and some of your posts need to be shared with the world!!!!

  2. You need to play guitar. My life revolves around guitar. I love it soooooooooooooooo much!
300 followers, huh? At my rate, I’ll have 116 followers, even after what will be 2 years of blogging by next year. Of course, I rarely post, my posts kinda suck, AND I’m only 11 years old.
    ❤ great goals!

    1. I know I really do! Hehe I’m aiming high, not really sure how realistic it is but we’ll see. Hey that’s not bad! I don’t think age really matters-you could always post more though, I think that helps 👍 I love reading your posts 😀
      Thanks! ❤
